essential applications for your HTC Tytn II

Posted in Pocket PC on June 23rd, 2008

i have, in the longest time, wanted to post the applications which i think would be essential should one have an htc tytn II. now that i do have some spare time, let me show you the list of applications that is a must have on everyone who has an HTC Tynt II (Kaiser):

  1. PIM Backup - a freeware utility for backing up your contacts, calendar, SMS and custom files. Theoretically works on all PPCs. but I have tested this to work on the Tytn II and Hermes.
  2. WM6 Threaded SMS - ported by Shogun from the WM-based Treos. one of the best chat style sms application.
  3. Pocket Informant 8 - full featured PIM application that replaces the default calendar/task/contacts manager of your pocket PCs.
  4. Sprite Mobile Backup - application to backup and restore your Tytn II from the SD card. No PC required :)
  5. Cash Organizer 2008 - nifty application if you are, like me, conscious of monitoring your expenses.
  6. Codewallet Pro 6.62 - application to save all your passwords
  7. Megasoft Clock - nifty clock application that includes information such as sunrise, sunset time, and multiple alarms
  8. enAlarm PPC - a alarm application where you can set N-numbers of alarms and choose x-numbers of mp3 files as alarm tones.
  9. Mp3 trimmer - trims MP3 from within the pocket PC. no desktops needed. very handy when you come across mp3s that you want to set as ringtones but only parts of it (i.e., chorus only ringtones, etc.)
  10. SKTools 5 - application to tweak your Tytn II/Kaiser
  11. Resco Explorer - full featured pocket pc explorer (much like windows explorer)
  12. Field Test - works like Nokia’s network monitor
  13. Group SMS - for group SMS.
  14. HSDPA Switch - turns on/off HSDPA capability of your phone (network dependent)
  15. Memmaid - memory manager. can also tweak your PPCs PIE cache
  16. Turbo GPS - one of the best and lightweight GPS application. good for saving waypoints, and checking speed when driving
  17. Mapking R12 - the only GPS application that offers a map of the Philippines. Manila area only

Note that some of the applications mentioned above are freeware, the rest are pay-ware or shareware. Credits goes to the maker(s)/developer(s) of the above applications.

You can download the above applications by checking the developer sites at google or by checking this link.
