phuket, glorietta and other stuffs
Posted in Life on October 20th, 2007it has been so long since i’ve updated my blog. seemed as if the last couple of months passed by like a blur. a lot of things has happened since the last time i wrote.
i took a wonderful (but pricey) vacation in phuket. met up with my sister (whom i haven’t seen for a couple of years already) and bonded with her. we talked a lot, she suprised me a bit with her stories but it was quite a happy reunion. as a result of the reunion, i was drunk every night. not because i’m an alcoholic but because i wanted to support my sis. she’s with the band playing at an expensive hotel called movenpick. so expensive i decided not to stay there, hehe. i stayed in a guesthouse just opposite the beach. i marvelled at the beach, the sunset, and most specially, the food! mouth watering seafood salad, pad thai and some other food of which the name eluded my memory. like always, i attribute the memory loss to the amount of general anesthesia that my body imbibed on my last (mini) operation. thailand was great, but as always, pinas is still the best. it is my home, and will always be in my heart. kahit na pamatay ang traffic, ang pila sa mrt, at taas ng bilihin, it will always be where i will retire eventually.
speaking of the philippines, glorietta was all over the news. the bombing that happened this afternoon was well publicized and extremely sad. 8 people died and over a hundred was injured. it is so sad kase its close to christmas na. and i very well know the pain of losing the people you love specially this time of the year when love between family and friends are emphasized. my sincerest condolence to the families of those who died here. what i do not understand is why those people responsible for the bombing (or any kind of terrorist attack) can go on doing this. is it because of their grudge against the government? of them being unsatisfied with the way things are going on in our country? do they understand that whatever their motives are, the only ones that get directly affected are those simple people like us! people that are trying to make a decent living, trying hard to survive and help their families. the effect of this kind of act will be like a ripple and will stretch thus far. investors will probably think not twice but a hundred of times before they choose our country over india or china. local businessmen on the other hand, will lose a lot because of this. and the peeps in sales are probably going to be laid off. i do pray to God that those people responsible do get bumped in the head and realize that they have wronged not only the government but us!
